FEAST picks up the Prix Loridan-Ivens / Cnap at Cinéma du Réel

Tim Leyendekker has won the Loridan-Ivens / Cnap award at the International Documentary Film Festival Cinéma du Réel (Paris) for his film Feast.

Feast

The Loridan-Ivens / Cnap prize is awarded annually to a debut feature film from both International and French Selections. Feast is produced by seriousFilm and international sales are handled by Square Eyes.

From the Jury report: The 2021 jury is pleased to award the astonishingly masterful film Feast by Tim Leyendekker, which takes a boldly constructed approach to a particularly painful story. The prize acknowledges Feast as a film that courageously surmounts obstacles without sacrificing its rigorous formal research.

Based on the infamous Groningen HIV case, in which three men drugged other men and infected them with their own HIV-infected blood, Feast is a bold and provocative film that skillfully reflects the questions of life, death and morality that have emerged from one of the most disquieting stories in contemporary Dutch life.

The film premiered in Tiger Competition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam and had its international premiere at Cinéma du Reél 2021. Furthermore, Feast has been selected for Kino Pavasaris (Lithuania) and Movies that Matter (Netherlands).
