On his 30th birthday, Tom Fassaert receives a mysterious invitation from his 95-year-old grandmother Marianne to come and visit her in South Africa. At that time, he only knows her from myths and predominantly negative stories told by his father. She was a femme fatale, a famous model in the 1950s and a mother who put her sons into a children's home. Fassaert accepts her invitation. Then his grandmother makes an unexpected confession, making his venture more complicated than he could have imagined.
