After the death of his wife, pig farmer Ronald is responsible for the care of their daughter and the farm. But ever stricter environmental requirements hang around his neck like a millstone. When, to make matters worse, animal activist Erik, unaware of Ronald's situation, starts an increasingly virulent hate campaign against him, Ronald becomes desperate.
