Dutch animation films selected for Anima

Brussels International Animation Film Festival takes place from February 23 - March 3

A range of Dutch animation films is on its way to Brussels for the 2024 Anima.


Still: Wander to Wonder - Nina Gantz

Nina Gantz' film Wander to Wonder* (NL co-prod. Circe Film and Kaap Holland Film) is part of the International shorts competition. Earlier festival selections include a World premiere at Venice Orrizonti short and Clermont-Ferrand ISFF. After Anima the short will also screen at SXSW. 

King Sausage* (prod. Viking Film, sales SND Films) by Mascha Halberstad is performing in the International short films for kids competition. The film was previously selected for Schlingel IFFCY, BIKY and Manchester Animation FF.

Two films are selected for the national shorts competition: Beautiful Men* (NL co-prod. Ka-Ching Cartoons) by Nicolas Keppens - earlier selected for Film Fest Gent, IFFR, and Clermont-Ferrand ISFF and after Anima the short will also screen at SXSW - and The Miracle (NL co-prod. Kepler Film) by Nienke Deutz, which world premiered at Annecy IAFF followed by many festival selections and the Gold Hugo Award at Chicago IFF. The film was recently also selected for Clermont-Ferrand ISFF. 

Balcony Cacophony* (prod. Family Affair Filmssales: SND Films) by Quentin Haberham is part of the Animated Night Short Film competition. The film was, among others, selected for IndieLisboa, Schlingel IFFCY, Kaboom and Clermont-Ferrand ISFF.
