Dutch documentary Donna: Women in Revolt by Yvonne Scholten which will be shown at the DocuDonna festival, preceded by a lecture by Gerdien Smit (Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam).

Researcher Gerdien Smit will provide a historical context for the film Donna: Women in Revolt (1980), distributed 43 years ago by the Dutch feminist film collective Cinemien. Smit will explore Cinemien’s pioneering work in promoting feminist films. This film, along with the rest of the Cinemien collection, is now held in the Eye Filmmuseum archive.
Dutch journalist, former correspondent in Italy, Yvonne Scholten, impressively portrays 80 years of female resistance in Italy. Starting from the brutal fascist attack on the free Roman radio station Radio Donna in 1979.
Furthermore, The Walking Forest by Rose Caella and Floris Leeuwenberg will be shown in the same program. The documentary tells the story of Bosk, an extraordinary land art project that brought over a thousand trees to the Dutch city of Leeuwarden (Friesland), changing the lives of its citizens forever.
The sixth edition of the festival will be opened by Cristina Berlini and Letizia Papi. Greetings will follow from the new mayor of the Municipality of Massa Marittima, Irene Marconi and the president of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Massa Marittima, Ambra Fontani.
