Koki, Ciao by Quenton Miller won the Cupra Filmmaker award and Vera van Wolferen's Down in the Dumps received a Special Mention at the Berlinale this weekend.

In Koki, Ciao by Quenton Miller Koki, the famous talking cockatoo, gives insights into his life with Tito, the long-time president of Yugoslavia whose country residence was regularly frequented by political figures, dictators and movie stars. The short film celebrated its international premiere in Berlin and took home the CUPRA Filmmaker Award.

In Generation Kplus animated short film Down in the Dumps* by animation director and paper artist Vera van Wolferen received a special Mention from the jury: "this lovingly created animation told us a story which reveals that dark feelings can only be overcome with the help of friends. We found the film very moving and original."
Down in the Dumps is produced by Family Affair Films; Kapitein Kort is on board handling festival distribution. Before the Berlinale, Vera van Wolferen spoke with SEE NL about her short film in this interview.
