This October the Viennale Vienna International Film Festival dedicates the retrospective program Monography to the work of Dutch director Digna Sinke.
The retrospective will showcase her cinematic oeuvre with a total of 13 films, showcasing documentaries and features. Sinke will attend the festival to introduce and discuss her work.
“The work of the renowned Dutch filmmaker Digna Sinke is marked by great personal dedication and a deep sensitivity to landscape and memory. Sinke shapes her films like a gardener tends her garden – with care, patience, and the ability to connect different elements,” notes the Viennale, “Sinke’s great strength lies in making the past and the passage of time cinematically tangible. Her works are not only personal but of universal significance, leaving a lasting mark on Dutch cinema.”
