Locarno: Astrit Ismaili talks The First Flower
In this episode of Ferry Tales, we speak with filmmaker Astrit Ismaili aboard the ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to Eye Filmmuseum about The First Flower. Selected for the Concorso Nazionale section of Pardi di Domani at the Locarno Film Festival, the coming-of-age story follows Siki over one intense day in Prishtina as they navigate desire, violence, and transformation. The experimental short film is a co-production between Kosovo, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, produced by Astrovision (Astrit Ismaili, Dardan Hoti & Isobel Dryburgh).
